Reconciling Ministries Affiliate

 

Ypsilanti First UMC has joined Reconciling Ministries (LGBTQ). This affiliation is to make a clear statement that all persons are welcome in this church.

 

The Reconciling Ministries Network is a network of Methodist congregations and individuals working for full inclusion of LGBTQ persons in the United Methodist Church. Reconciling Congregations are committed to working for justice around issues sexual orientation and gender identity.   

 

By identifying as a Reconciling Congregation, we are making the commitment to be more visible to the community and the rest of the world. RMN's “rainbow flames” logo offers a visible identifier that could be used on our church’s website, stationary, and advertising board outside the church.

 

The traditional United Methodist cross and flame logo is in no way replaced or superseded. The Reconciling Ministries logo is another way for those outside our congregation to recognize who we are and what we are about.
