The year 2025 marks the 200th anniversary of the founding of the First United Methodist Church in Ypsilanti. There will be a series of events and activities to celebrate this historic milestone. All members and guests are invited. Mark your calendars and invite your family, neighbors and friends for the 2025 events and activities.

 

JUNE:

 

Sunday, June 8 – The UniSong Chorale will perform in the Sanctuary at 4:00 PM.

June 21-22 – Celebration Weekend

​

Saturday, June 21 – A special celebration dinner will be catered in Fellowship Hall beginning at 5:30 PM. Following dinner at 7:00 PM, Dale Carlson will present a lecture in the Sanctuary focused on the Church’s stained-glass windows.

Sunday, June 22 – Our 200 Year Celebration Service will be in our sanctuary beginning at 10:30 AM. Bishop David Bard will deliver the message. District Superintendent LuAnn Rourke will also be in attendance. A reception will follow the service in Fellowship Hall.

 

JULY:

 

Friday, July 4 – We will participate in the Ypsilanti 4th of July parade.

Sunday, July 13 or Sunday, July 20 – Highland Cemetery tour – Time to be determined

 

AUGUST:

 

Saturday, August 23 - A "Community Day" gathering in our church parking lot from 2:00-6:00 PM. Music, activities, and displays are being planned. More details will be forthcoming.

 

SEPTEMBER:

 

Friday, September 5 – Community Spaghetti Dinner in our Fellowship Hall from 4:30-7:30 PM.

Friday, September 26 - Performance by "The Atomic Cafe" at 7:00 PM in Fellowship Hall. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided.

 

OCTOBER:

 

Friday, October 24 – “Phil Ogilvie's Rhythm Kings” will perform in the Sanctuary at 7:00 PM.

 

NOVEMBER:

 

Planning is underway for November activities.
