Q. What is AmazonSmile?

 

A. When you shop on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), the AmazonSmile Foundation donates 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to your selected charitable organization.  AmazonSmile (www.smile.amazon.com) is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices, and convenient shopping features as on Amazon.com.

 

Q. Is there any cost to charitable organizations or to customers?

 

A. No. There is no cost to charitable organizations or to AmazonSmile customers. The shopping, pricing and shipping experience is identical to Amazon.com.

 

Q. How does AmazonSmile work?

 

A. When first visiting AmazonSmile ( www.smile.amazon.com ), you sign in using your Amazon user ID and password. Customers are prompted to select a charitable organization from almost one million eligible organizations. Q. After I select a charity, will my purchases on Amazon.com result in donations to the church?

 

A. No. 

You must first go to www.smile.amazon.com before making purchases which create donations to the church.  You sign in at www.smile.amazon.com using your user ID and password from Amazon.com.  You can only see whether products are eligible for the AmazonSmile donation program on the www.smile.amazon.com website.  If you forget to go to smile.amazon.com, the purchases you make on amazon.com will not generate donations.

 

Q. What are eligible purchases?

 

A. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages at http://smile.amazon.com. Recurring Subscribe-and-Save purchases, digital downloads (e.g., Kindle ebooks and Amazon music), and subscription renewals are not currently eligible.

 

Q.  Does Amazon Prime membership include free shipping of products purchased on smile.amazon.com?

 

A. Yes.

 

Q. Do purchases made using Amazon gift cards or Amazon Visa Cards qualify for AmazonSmile eligible purchases?

 

A. Yes.  Eligible purchases made on smile.amazon.com with gift cards will result in a donation to the customer's charity of choice.

 

Q. Can customers claim a Federal tax deduction for donations made by Amazon to the Amazon Smile Foundation?

 

A. No.

 

Q. Does Amazon share individual customer information with the selected charitable organization?

 

A. Amazon will not share individual customer information with charitable organizations even if you select to support them through your shopping on AmazonSmile.
