We are greatful for your support. We know some people are not able to give and understand you must first take care of yourself. Please pray for those who are sick, caregivers and all critical workers. If you are able, we are thankful you can support the Church.
You provide financial support to the church during the pandemic in any of these ways:

- For recurring donations, we have secure, automatic electronic giving (EFT). Call or email the Church Administrator at 734-482-8374 to request electronic giving. You will be contacted by the Church Treasurer to select the amount and frequency of your donations (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly). OR
- Send a check to First United Methodist Church of Ypsilanti, 209 Washtenaw Ave., Ypsilanti, MI 48197.

Operating Fund Help fund the many ministries of our church.
Special Giving Donate to help in situations like disaster relief, to local charities or to honor or in memory of a person. You will be taken to a secure Paypal webpage. Enter the amount of the donation on the first Paypal page. On the second page, click on the pencil symbol near the top of the second Paypal page and enter a description of what you are donating to (e.g., Hurricane Relief in USA or abroad, Flint Water Crisis to help with recovery ministry, name of person you are giving in memory of, etc..). Donations received without a description of what is being donated to will be deposited to the Operating Fund.
Building Fund Our beautiful First United Methodist Church of Ypsilanti building is over 130 years old. To help ensure our mission to serve the community we must keep the building functional. We have recently renovated portions of the building like the restrooms which will allow us to fully utilize the rooms in the educational wing and update our nursery. We host community groups like Overeaters Anonymous, ESL classes, Girl Scouts and Justice For Our Neighbors-Southeast Michigan. We have upgraded building security to help increase the safety of children and adults. We upgrade our parking, access and signage to better help attendees.
If you would split all or part of your contribution to another fund, please explain: (Example: $50 to missions; $20 to building fund). Donations will be credited to the general operating fund unless designated otherwise.

Q. Is my information safe and confidential?
A. PayPal is the largest processor of credit/debit card, and bank account transactions on the internet. All information is secure and encrypted to protect you and your information.When you give through PayPal, the church does NOT see private information such as your debit card or bank account number.
Q. Are there any fees or costs to donate online?
A. Not to you. The full amount that you choose to donate goes to the First United Methodist Church of Ypsilanti and is considered a tax-deductible gift. The church pays a fee of 2.2% + $.30 for each transaction which is why we suggest that PayPal be used only for occasional donations.
Q. How will I know my donation made it to the church?
A. You will receive a confirmation email from PayPal immediately after you complete your donation. You can keep the email as a receipt for tax purposes. Your donation will be reported on your yearly Contribution Statement. The First United Methodist Church of Ypsilanti provides an annual giving statement to donors prior to January 31 of the next year.
